Fall is in full swing!

Fall is in full swing this year, fundraising events are happening almost every weekend now.  Donors are giving strategically, locally and are becoming much more selective when is comes to giving in this economy. Your guests want to be more involved in how their money is being used, they are giving more but....to fewer organizations.

79% of Americans give to their favorite charity. According to research 16.3 Billion has been raised by trained Benefit Auction Specialists the National Association of Auctioneers reports show auctioneers with this expertise raise twice as much as their fellow auctioneers.

These fundraising events take a lot of time to plan and are labor intensive, however, you have to perfect opportunity for one event to focus on the mission of your organization, educate the donor about what you have done and the future you are planning.

 We are finding guests are leaving 30-45 minutes earlier, so less is more and it is important to condense your timeline for the evening.  The donors have to be ready to give and emotionally prepared in a very short amount of time. That's where your trained fundraising auctioneer can be a real asset to the evening.

What happen to Spring?

It appears that Oklahoma has just missed the spring season and we are moving right into summertime.
Things are heating up with the temperatures and the auctions.  People may be attending less fundraising auctions than before, but they are being more generous in their giving to those they do attend.

You see, generosity is an emotion, and the amount of money people spend at your fundraising event will depend on how they feel. The four objectives of a successful fundraiser are; you want your donors to,

1. Feel important.
2. Gain a desire to support your cause.
3. Want what you are selling at the auction.
4. Get caught up in the thrill of bidding.

When I stand in front of an audience as a Fundraising Professional Auctioneer, I am charged with the responsibility of raising a lot of money, if these objectives are met, my job is easy. All I have to do is make them feel the thrill of bidding and giving to a great cause.  I work to get to know the donors from the time they walk in the room, visiting with them during the social and silent auction. My team and myself gather a lot of information before the Live Auction even begins, we let them know we are trustworthy and professional and have a passion for the organization we are working for.

Auction season is in full force!

2012 is going to be a great year! There are so many generous people in Oklahoma.  I was asked last week at the Heart Ball 2012 by a donor, "there are so many great organizations and causes, how do you pick the ones you give to"? You just have to follow your heart, what organizations bring a tug to your heart strings and do what you wish you could do on your own.  Most of us don't have the capability to give on our own, to the level an organization can give to the needs of our community.  That is why we need to hook up with the organizations who step up to the cause you feel passionately about. Volunteer, donate your time and money when needed and know you are making a difference.


Boys and Girls Club event was amazing this year. More dollars were raised than last year. What a great cause and what a great organization.  I was touched to be a part of their auction this year.  


I'm currently working with several organizations on their upcoming events. It is a very busy time of year for Benefit Auctioneers who spend months meeting with their groups and preparing for a successful event that will raise those much needed dollars!
